Episodic Spotlight: Hal & Harper

Episodic Spotlight

SFJFF is excited to screen the first three episodes of this series

Siblings Hal (Cooper Raiff), Harper (Lili Reinhart), and their dad (Mark Ruffalo), have been through a lot—and the reverberations of their past continue to invade their daily lives. Hal is trying to get through college and become self-sufficient. Harper is recovering from a breakup and possibly falling in love at the same time. And Dad is trying to be a good partner while grappling with everything that comes with it. When yet another major life announcement arrives, so do the memories they’ve tried—and failed—to forget. Creator, writer, and director Cooper Raiff explores a family in flux in his independent television series Hal & Harper. With embodied performances from the show’s leads as well as a strong supporting ensemble—including Havana Rose Liu and Addison Timlin—Raiff delivers sharp writing and a poignant, tenderhearted story of grief, trauma, and the trials of growing up. Hal & Harper is sure to become an “in-the-know” classic for TV and indie film lovers alike. —Anisse Elias
