Daisy Friedman is a New York–based writer and director whose work explores tradition, intimacy, embodiment, and disability. A multi-organ transplant recipient, she creates deeply personal films that have screened at major festivals. Her short Unholy (2024) premiered at Sundance 2025 and screened at SXSW. As You Are (2023) played at Frameline, Outfest, Inside Out, and the Chicago International Film Festival, earning awards including the Emerging Filmmaker Award at NewFest35 and a Special Mention at Outfest. Daisy’s work has been featured in Variety, Deadline, Out Magazine, and The Advocate. She is a 2025–2026 UFO Filmmaker Lab fellow, a Winter/Spring resident at the Woodward Artist Residency, and a recipient of the 2023 Colin Higgins Youth Foundation Grant. She holds a degree in Film Studies from Barnard College.
